ABOUT BRI

Bri Frey is a Detroit based visual artist with a BFA in illustration. Born and raised in Cincinnati, she took inspiration from the local art community. This allowed her the opportunity to apprentice under a local visual artist in her youth. She then developed a love for traditional mediums, oil paint in particular.

Her work currently focuses on the human figure. She enjoys representing the most complex and challenging form. Frey aims to reproduce the sense of awe found in old master’s paintings. Her recent work involves intimate and personal narratives surrounding her trauma experienced as a young woman, stories she was told to keep to herself.
